InviziPoll can help you draft, refine, and polish polls using AI-always under your control. You review every change; nothing is sent to respondents until you publish.
Privacy first - Only admin-typed draft text and instructions are sent to the model. Encrypted respondent answers are not used as model input. See What is sent to the AI provider below.
Availability
AI poll authoring is included during the 14-day trial and on paid plans (Pro, Business, Enterprise), subject to daily caps below.
It is not included on the post-trial free tier. After the trial ends without a subscription, you can still sign in, read existing data, and create polls up to the free poll limit-but AI generate, refine, and improve require an upgrade. See Billing, trial, and tier limits.
A workspace must also enable AI (one-time consent-see below), and the deployment must have AI authoring turned on.
Where to find it
- Start from a prompt. On
Polls, useNew poll→With AI. Describe the survey; the app generates a draft you can preview and apply into the poll builder. - Continue from AI drafts. Successful generates are saved as encrypted server drafts when your workspace has room and (when required) a team folder is available. Find them under
Polls→AI drafts. Use Continue or Discard. Prompt text is not stored on the server-only title, question count, and timestamps for the list. - Polish in the wizard. On the Questions step of a saved draft, use Polish with AI (presets such as tone and reduce bias) or Custom refinement. ⌘K / Ctrl+K (when not typing in a field) opens Custom refinement.
- Improve one question. On a question card, use the AI improve action to rewrite that question only.
Enterprise / team folders. Pick a team folder in Basic info before the first server save when the product requires it, or the builder cannot store a draft. Until then, polish, refine, and per-question tools stay unavailable.
If you do not see these entry points, AI may be disabled for your deployment, your trial may have ended, or your plan may not include AI-check with your workspace owner or InviziPoll support, or open Admin → Subscription.
Workspace consent (one-time)
Before the workspace can use AI features, an owner or admin must accept the AI terms in the in-product flow. Until then, AI actions return a clear “consent required” state. Granting consent is recorded in the workspace audit log; it is not repeated for every generate or refine. (New workspaces that accept terms at signup may already have consent on file.)
What is sent to the AI provider
Only text you type as a workspace admin in AI flows-poll titles, question text, options, and your instructions-is sent to our AI provider. Respondent answers are never sent to the model; they stay end-to-end encrypted as always.
Three kinds of AI help

Refine needs the poll saved as a draft on the server. After With AI, the app saves a draft when generation succeeds (or when you Start poll on mobile). If saving fails (poll cap, missing folder, or keys not loaded), you can still open the builder and use Save draft, then polish.
Improve uses a separate daily budget from generate/refine (see below).
Optional details when generating
On New poll → With AI, open Optional details to choose tone, audience, target question count, and which question types the model may use (for example scales, word cloud, or date/time). Hints are soft; the draft still has to pass validation, and you can edit everything afterward.
Daily limits and fairness
Usage limits are per plan, enforced per 24-hour window (the window starts when the workspace first uses AI in that period-it is not always midnight UTC). Limits apply at the workspace level, with a per-admin guard so one person cannot exhaust the budget alone.

When you hit a cap, the app shows when the current window resets and you can keep editing manually without losing your draft. Higher tiers and upgrades are offered where applicable. Your in-app usage indicator and Billing, trial, and tier limits are authoritative if numbers change.
Review, diff, and safety
After generate, review the proposed poll before it becomes your wizard state. Large refines may warn when many questions or options would change-accept or reject deliberately. AI suggestions respect InviziPoll anonymity and anti-inference rules; the Anonymity Coach still applies to your final content.
Word cloud and date / time questions
Word cloud answers appear in aggregate (word cloud plus ranked list). Rely on audience size, unlock thresholds, and cohort floors-not on hiding individual words by frequency. For date/time questions, authors pick date, time, or both with a timezone for aggregate charts.
Respondent languages
InviziPoll does not auto-translate your poll for respondents. They can use the browser’s page translation (Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox) on the response page. Your encrypted responses stay keyed to stable question and option ids.
