AI poll building

InviziPoll can help you draft, polish and improve polls with AI, always under your control. You review every change, and nothing reaches respondents until you publish.

#Availability

AI poll authoring is included during the 14-day trial and on paid plans (Pro, Business, Enterprise), with daily limits that depend on the plan.

It isn't included on the free plan. After a trial ends without a subscription you can still sign in, read existing data and create polls up to the free poll limit, but AI generate, polish and improve need an upgrade. See Billing, trial, and tier limits.

A workspace also has to accept the AI terms once (see below).

#Where to find it

• Start from a prompt. On Polls, use Create with AI (also in the New poll menu, alongside ready-made AI templates). Describe the survey and the app generates a draft you can preview and apply in the poll builder. You can also set a tone, an audience, how many questions you want and which question types to use. Those are hints: the draft still has to pass validation, and you can edit everything afterwards.
• Continue from AI drafts. A successful generation is saved as a draft when your workspace has room for another poll. Find them in the AI drafts section on Polls, with Continue, Open editor and Discard. We don't store your prompt on the server; the list shows only the title, question count and when it was made.
• Polish the whole poll. On the Questions step of a saved draft, the assistant offers presets such as Make tone more formal, Make more conversational, Reduce bias and Add a question, plus a bias check across every question.
• Improve one question. On a question card, the AI action rewrites that question only, or checks it for bias. Before you accept, it shows everything the rewrite would change: options, a scale's range and labels, and answer-length limits, not just the wording.

If your workspace uses team folders, pick a folder in Basic info before the first save, or the builder can't store a draft. Until then, polish and per-question tools stay unavailable.

If you don't see these entry points, AI may be turned off for your deployment, your trial may have ended, or your plan may not include AI. Check with your workspace owner, or open Subscription in the sidebar.

#What AI will and won't write

Generated drafts can use single and multiple choice, scales, NPS, word cloud, open text and date or time questions. The AI doesn't author ranking questions or grids: add those yourself. When it improves a ranking question or a grid row you already have, it keeps the question type, and a grid stays a grid.

#One-time workspace consent

Before anyone in the workspace can use AI, an owner or admin accepts the AI terms in the product. Until then, AI actions say consent is required. Granting consent is recorded in the workspace audit log once; it isn't repeated for every generation. New workspaces that accepted the terms at signup already have consent on file.

#What is sent to the AI provider

Only text you type as a workspace admin in AI flows is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic: poll titles, question text, options and your instructions. Respondent answers are never sent to it. They're encrypted in the respondent's browser and the server stores only ciphertext.

#Three kinds of AI help

Polish needs the poll saved as a draft. After Create with AI, the app saves one when generation succeeds. If saving fails (poll limit, missing folder, or keys not loaded), you can still open the builder, use Save draft, then polish.

#Daily limits

Generate and polish share one daily pool; improving or bias-checking a question uses a separate one, so reviewing a long survey never costs you the ability to draft a new one. Each pool resets 24 hours after the workspace's first AI action of the cycle, not at midnight. A trial gets 5 generations and 50 question rewrites a day; paid plans get more. When two or more admins share a workspace, each can use at most half of a pool, rounded up, so one person can't spend a whole team's allowance alone. Question rewrites don't drop below 50 a person while the workspace allows that many, so anyone can still bias-check a full import.

The exact numbers for every plan, what a pasted import costs, and the monthly AI capacity are on AI usage and fair use. When you reach a limit, the app shows when the window resets and you can keep editing by hand without losing your draft.

#Review, diff and safety

After generating, you review the proposed poll before it becomes your draft. Large polishes warn when many questions or options would change, so you accept or reject deliberately. The Anonymity Coach runs the same checks on AI-suggested questions as on the ones you write, and flags them as AI suggested. The Demographics and Review steps also list the survey checks beside the coach: questions that ask who someone is, group questions that aren't tagged and the small groups they add up to, and free text that invites a story. #Respondent languages

InviziPoll doesn't auto-translate your poll for respondents. They can use their browser's page translation (Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox) on the response page. Answers stay keyed to stable question and option ids, so the language someone reads in doesn't change how results add up.
