Workspace poll templates

Workspace poll templates let your team save a poll's questions, branching rules, and settings as a reusable starting point alongside InviziPoll's 13 built-in templates. When someone starts a poll from a template, InviziPoll copies it into a fresh poll with new question identifiers and a new encryption keypair.

#Built-in templates and workspace templates

The wizard's Template step offers two kinds of starting point.

• Built-in templates ship with InviziPoll. There are 13, including an eNPS survey, a one-word reaction, an always-on speak-up channel, a board vote, an exit pool, a new hire check-in and a workplace climate assessment. Some of them also set sensible access defaults, like an open link for the in-person pulses. See QR posters and pulse presets for the three built for rooms and posters.
• Workspace templates are the ones your team saves. They capture a poll the way you run it: your questions, your branching rules and your settings.

When someone starts a poll from a workspace template, the template is copied into a fresh poll with new question identifiers and a new encryption keypair. The template itself doesn't change.

#Permissions

Saving templates is limited to workspace owners and admins, so organizational standards are set by people with that authority. It also needs an active trial or a paid plan.

Using templates to start a new poll is open to every workspace member who can create polls. Members see workspace templates alongside the built-in ones on the Template step, but can't save or manage them.

#Saving a template

There are two places to save one:

• The wizard's Review step: after building a poll, choose Save as template and give it a name. The current questions, branching rules and settings are captured, including any recipient addresses you typed on the Distribution step.
• A poll's page: Save as template in the poll's actions captures the poll's questions, branching rules and settings. Recipient addresses aren't copied from a poll that's already been sent.

#Template quotas

Templates have a hard cap: up to 20 on a trial, and up to 500 on a paid plan. If you hit the limit, delete unused templates under Settings → Workspace before saving new ones.

#Managing templates

Owners and admins can browse, rename, preview and delete templates in the Poll templates section under Settings → Workspace. Deleting a template doesn't affect polls already created from it.

#Starting from a survey you already have

A template is the right tool when the starting point is a poll your team has already built in InviziPoll. If the starting point is a survey that lives in another product, import it instead: see Importing questions from another tool. Once the imported draft is shaped the way you want, save it as a workspace template and the round trip is done.

#What a template captures

A template stores:

• questions (text, type, options, scales) and branching rules
• the minimum group size and recipient limits, retention, and the results and respondent-page display settings
• the access model settings
• recipient addresses typed into the Distribution step, when saved from the wizard

It doesn't store poll passwords, a results PIN, access codes, encryption keys, the poll's end date, selected contact lists, or any responses.
