How the sample poll works: a real poll with synthetic, browser-encrypted responses that lets you watch results unlock and decrypt before you invite a single coworker.

Results in InviziPoll unlock only after three or more responses, and that floor is a privacy promise rather than a setting. The sample poll exists so you can see what an unlocked poll looks like on day one, without asking anyone to answer anything.
The most convincing moment in the product is watching anonymous results decrypt in your own browser. On a brand-new workspace that moment is behind a real obstacle: you have no respondents yet, so every poll you create sits locked. See sample results gets you past that in about two minutes.
What it creates
Clicking See sample results on the dashboard's getting-started checklist creates one poll titled Team pulse (sample) with five questions and eight synthetic responses:

The answers are written to look like a plausible team rather than a flattering one: a mix of promoters and passives, one detractor, and a spread of workload scores. The open-text answers repeat a few words across respondents so the theme summary has something to show.
When it finishes, you land on the poll's results, already unlocked, with every chart decrypted in your browser. From there you can try the same things you would on a real poll: filter, export a PDF or CSV, and read the open-text panel.
Why it is a real poll
The sample is not a mock-up or a screenshot. It is created through exactly the same path as any other poll:
- Your browser generates the poll's keypair. The server cannot mint poll keys, for a sample or for anything else.
- Your browser encrypts the eight canned answers to that poll's public key and submits them through the ordinary response endpoint.
- The results page decrypts them the way it decrypts every poll: on your device, with your keys.
The server stores ciphertext it cannot read. That is the point: what you see is the actual results experience, not a demonstration of one.
What the sample does not do
Because the data is synthetic, the sample is kept out of anything that would treat it as real:
- It does not count toward your plan's poll limit.
- It does not appear in dashboard statistics, the response sparkline, or the attention and momentum panels.
- It sends no lifecycle email. You will not get a "your results are ready" message about it.
- It carries no response-count attestation.
- Its respondent page shows a sample poll banner and no conversion footer, so opening it yourself is not counted as anyone's traffic.
Every admin surface labels it: the poll page carries a Sample poll, synthetic responses notice and the poll list shows the sample badge next to the title.
Limits and housekeeping
- One per workspace. The button becomes Open sample results once the sample exists.
- Short-lived by design. The sample closes seven days after it is created, and its responses are purged thirty days after that, like any poll on the default retention setting.
- Already full. Its respondent cap is eight, and the eight synthetic answers fill it, so it cannot be repurposed as a real poll by sharing its link.
- Delete and re-seed. From the poll page use More actions, then Delete poll. The dashboard button returns to See sample results, and clicking it creates a fresh sample.
The sample has no demographic questions. Cohort filters need at least five responses in a group before they show anything, and eight synthetic answers would only demonstrate the locked state.
