Question bank
Heads up — The bank lives under Settings → Workspace → Question bank (management: owners and admins). In the poll wizard, use Add from question bank on the Questions step to insert copies (not live links) into the poll.
What is the question bank?
The question bank is an organization-wide library of reusable poll questions. Instead of retyping the same employee engagement, pulse check, or compliance questions across multiple polls, workspace owners and admins can save them once; anyone building a poll can insert copies from the bank with a click.
Questions in the bank are copies, not references. When you insert a bank question into a poll, it becomes an independent copy with its own unique identifier. Editing the bank version later does not affect polls that already used it, and editing a poll's copy does not change the bank entry. This preserves poll integrity — once respondents have submitted answers, the question they answered cannot change out from under them.
Who can use the question bank?
Browsing and inserting bank questions happens in the poll wizard (Add from question bank on the Questions step). Any workspace member who can create polls can open the picker, search, filter, and insert copies. The bank is scoped to your organization — you only see entries that belong to your workspace.
Creating, editing, and deleting bank entries is limited to workspace owners and admins, and only from Settings → Workspace (see below). There is no separate “integrations” screen — the Question bank card sits alongside other workspace tools. Members do not see the management UI there, even though they can use the wizard picker.
Adding and editing bank entries (owners and admins)
Go to Settings → Workspace, then open the Question bank section to add, edit, or remove entries. Each bank entry includes:
- Question text — plain text in the bank editor; after you insert a copy into a poll, you can use the same limited markdown supported elsewhere for poll questions (bold, italic, links) if you want that formatting on the response page
- Question type — multiple choice (single or multi-select) or scale
- Options or scale range — the answer choices or scale parameters
- Category — an optional label for organizing related questions (e.g., "Engagement", "Compliance", "Onboarding")
- Tags — optional tags for search and filtering in the picker
To turn an in-progress poll question into a bank item, add it through Settings → Workspace → Question bank (there is no separate “save this question to the bank” control on the wizard today).
Using bank questions in a poll
In the poll wizard's Questions step, click Add from question bank. A picker dialog opens where you can search by text, filter by category or type, and select one or more questions. Selected questions are appended to your poll with fresh identifiers.
If your poll uses branching rules, inserted questions land at the end of the question list. You can then drag them into position, and the wizard will prompt you to update any branching rules that reference moved questions.
Limits
The question bank does not currently impose a hard item limit. Questions are lightweight metadata — they do not count against your poll or template quotas.
Privacy note
Question bank entries are organizational authoring data — the same class of content as poll titles and question definitions, which are server-visible so InviziPoll can render polls to respondents. The end-to-end encryption that protects poll responses applies to answers, not to the questions being asked. Adding a question to the bank does not change this boundary.
